Early Lead For Eagle River Arsenal Seals Fate For Fairbanks North Stars 14U
Fairbanks North Stars 14U fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 16-3 loss to Eagle River Arsenal on Sunday. Eagle River Arsenal scored on a triple by Liam Lierman and a groundout by McEwen in the first inning. The Fairbanks Northstars 14U struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Eagle River Arsenal, giving up 16 runs.
In the first inning, Eagle River Arsenal got their offense started when Lierman tripled on a 0-1 count, scoring three runs. Eagle River Arsenal scored eight runs in the fifth inning. Eagle River Arsenal big bats were led by Sam Theis, Tyler Cage, T Molloy, Lierman, and McEwen, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. Lierman got the start for Eagle River Arsenal. Lierman went three innings, allowing one run on one hit and striking out seven.
